Welcome to the page of ALEGG 2024.

The Hispano-Portuguese Assembly of Geodesy and Geophysics, which had its first edition in Almeria in 1998, began by meeting every two years, alternating between the two responsible countries, Spain and Portugal. Throughout its editions, a research forum was consolidated in the fields of Geodesy, Seismology, Meteorology, Geomagnetism, Hydrology, Oceanography, Volcanology, Applied Geophysics and Cryospheric Sciences, and a place for meeting and scientific exchange between Spanish and Portuguese researchers, through the presentation and discussion of work in these fields. The Covid period marked the biggest gap in the established periodicity, which we now want to resume. Thus, two years after the last edition that took place in Toledo in 2022, the 2024 edition falls to Portugal. Next June, between the 24th and 28th, the University of Évora will host the 11th Hispano-Portuguese Assembly of Geodesy and Geophysics.

To address the diversity of subjects, 9 thematic sessions were defined. All researchers are invited to participate in the various sessions and discussion forums, especially Spanish and Portuguese researchers, in order to make the results obtained in the most recent work known. As it is convenient to address studies of a regional nature throughout the Iberian Peninsula and nearby areas, this invitation is extended to the scientific communities in Europe and the Maghreb, as well as to any foreign researchers who are interested in the themes of the nine sessions.

There will be reduced prices for students, prizes for the best student presentations, a commercial exhibition for companies in the sector and the official book of the Assembly will be published with the presentations received, as well as the submission of selected articles to scientific journals.

Important information

We recommend to book accommodation in advance due to the city’s high tourist demand, aggravated by the annual fair taking place during the Assembly week.
